This Is Our Story
On December 13th, 2015 we lost a son, brother, teammate and close friend to sudden cardiac arrest. Daniel Phelps always spread laughter and joy, and truly made the world a better place.
We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Daniel’s life than doing something he loved: playing a round of golf with friends while supporting an inspirational charity like the Nick of Time Foundation.

The Nick of Time Foundation was created in memory of Nick Varrenti, a multi-sport athlete who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and died at age 16. Nick of Time programs work together to help protect our young people and communities by providing heart health awareness for young people, early detection of undiagnosed heart abnormalities, and emergency action planning for schools and communities that includes CPR and AED education.
The DP Open is also a member of Parent Heart Watch. To date, we have raised over $60,000 (2,400 young hearts screened) for the Nick of Time Foundation!
